A team of seven SSJH attorneys and professional staff members spent the morning today at Family Building Blocks (FBB), a Salem non-profit organization. FBB works to break the intergenerational cycle of child abuse by providing therapeutic classes for children and services for parents, helping more than 700 babies, toddlers and preschoolers per year.
By early intervention with children and their parents, FBB aims to keep families together and improve their quality of life, reducing the community’s need for foster care placement programs and improving the chances of at-risk youth to overcome difficult life circumstances.
After a brief tour of the facility by FBB staff, our team spent half the day getting their hands dirty on landscaping projects. They pulled weeds, trimmed hedges, edged, raked, and swept up the debris— all activities for which attorneys and paralegals are especially well suited.
Our team would like to thank Sue, Heather, and Julie for educating us about the amazing impact Family Building Blocks has on our community, the good work you do everyday. and for the opportunity to get out of the office on a beautiful day.
